I was that time of year again…the annual Eagle Realty Awards breakfast. We find a good chunk of our day can be consumed with updates, looking for ways to promote to others, and interacting with others (kind of the point of “social” networking) We have to be careful. Now, luckily most of those platforms on those 4 major sites have the ability to share updates and info with one another. Like i can post a blog or update and it will auto post to the others. Or i can upload a video to YouTube and have it auto-post to my facebook, etc, etc. Plus now software tools for adding Twitter followers, and facebook advertising for getting more fans and friends are available…but to keep cost low you could do the old fashion way.
The thing though we are learning is to block scheduled time during the day for social media. Then re-focus some energy in the evening after daytiem business hours. Your gonna catch more people anyway for “socializing” and to be honest, your day hours at the office in real estate are too important to get caught up in hours of updates! LOL

Ever just thank God for Tuesday after that “kind” of Monday? Well, we do. Let me start off by saying that if you haven’t taken a look at mortgage rates in a while, you might want to…they have dropped slightly compared to recent weeks, and again are creating the “perfect storm” environment. And when I say storm, that is meant to be a good thing, because YOU my friend become the hurricane!
Here are the perfect storm elements:
1. Low Prices – don’t know if you have noticed the bottom prices on properties EVERYWHERE in the country including the north myrtle beach area! Foreclosures and short-sales we have a plenty!
2. Mortgage Rates Low – As i stated we have loan rates we have spotted under 5%. For you young guns like me, THATS HISTORICALLY LOW! Which only leaves one way for them to go…up.
3. Government Incentive – And this my friends is why the “perfect real estate storm” is so rare. Uncle Sam is giving you money to buy homes…seriously…the extension and expansion of the home buyer tax credit is still available. $8000 for first time buyers (talking to you renters throwing money away) and $6500 for move up buyers (you who need to sell, call Eagle to sell or make your price low enough to raw interest and make up on the other end when you buy something because you will get a deal i promise you!)

So i am not going to hide that this Monday has been, well just not all it could be. From lost financial documents, to computer and printer problems, to slow phones, and tax preparation…i mean come on, really?
I know where i find my peace and joy, I hope you know Him too, but some days just try to make you break I am afraid.
We had 2 more closing delays ( I am sure all my Realtor friends know how that feels). Plus waiting on answers to some pending offers. In our local market, being the winter season Inventory and listings are slow to pick up, especially ones that are priced right to sell, but they are coming.
About the only saving grace right now is the Sun came out after a cloudy morning to wake up to…a ray of HOPE some to say. And with it a new perspective of how miniscule my problems are compared to those around the world and my brothers and sisters in places like Haiti….I guess it is not that bad of Monday here after all.
