I have sometimes wondered what makes a good real estate agent.  Sometimes it’s easier to say what we don’t want or don’t like in an agents, whether you are a buyer, seller, or Broker/Manager, but negative usually flows before positive in our culture.  Just look at the people that usually fill out “customer feedback” forms – those who DID NOT have a good experience.  And in the midst of the bad, there are some really good agents…which leads me to ask of these agents, “what do you look for in a company?”  In the real estate industry, agents interview the company most times more than the company interviews them.  By that I mean, it’s the companies seeking agents, not the other way around most times. 

But, if success can be determined and measure by the people on your team, then it is a balance in hiring the right agents, and having the right agents find you.  So that leaves 2 questions:  the first (which was already stated) “what does a good agent look for in a company” and second, “how do i make my company that way”? 

We can narrow this down a little because I believe each company is different, and should be.  The culture at the company needs to fit the vision and direction the leader(s) wants the company to go.  That narrows down the types of “good” agents that will need to be on your team.  Quantity is not as important as quality, but the more “quantity of quality” agents, well the better!
