I wanted to take a second and recognize the newest part of Eagle Realty in North Myrtle Beach and my daily assistant – my daughter Addison Noel -
SHE MAY BE THE HARDEST WORKER I HAVE!
All kidding aside, I have been showing property this past week and weekend, answering alot of questions about the pro’s and con’s of condos, townhomes, residential houses…or this area vs. that area, golf course vs. ocean front, and rental potential vs. 2nd home. Buyers have a lot of questions, and we as Realtors strive to have many answers…but as a buyer is starting a process in looking to buy a home, here would be my advice. Answer some questions on your own before you start…I am not saying don’t ask questions, especially ones that a Realtor is supposed to be the expert in, but you can save yourself alot of headache in overloading yourself with too much property searching if you answer some questions like:
1. Is this for my use, or am i going to rent it out?
2. Do i need 1, 2, 3BR or more?
3. What is my top limit to what i will spend? – and you need to stand firm on this. (if you want to spend only 150,000, but know you can go 200,000 if you really like it, tell your Realtor 200,000)
4. Do i want a view (i.e. water, ocean, golf) or not?
5. Are there any amenities (i.e. pools, tennis, etc) that i MUST have – no exceptions?
These questions answered by you before your search begins will greatly increase your buying experience to be a pleasurable one and quicken the search for you and your Realtor so you don’t miss out on any deals. Remember, if it is a deal, it’s a deal for everyone, so you need to act quick.

I have to admit that the only reason i made mention of Cinco De Mayo is that it is Cinco De Mayo (May 5th to those who don’t speak spanish. According to www.vivacincodemayo.org history section:
“The 5th of May is not Mexican Independence Day, but it should be! And Cinco de Mayo is not an American holiday, but it should be. Mexico declared its independence from mother Spain on midnight, the 15th of September, 1810. And it took 11 years before the first Spanish soldiers were told and forced to leave Mexico. So, why Cinco de Mayo? And why should Americans savor this day as well? Because 4,000 Mexican soldiers smashed the French and traitor Mexican army of 8,000 at Puebla, Mexico, 100 miles east of Mexico City on the morning of May 5, 1862.
The French had landed in Mexico (along with Spanish and English troops) five months earlier on the pretext of collecting Mexican debts from the newly elected government of democratic President (and Indian) Benito Juarez. The English and Spanish quickly made deals and left. The French, however, had different ideas.
Under Emperor Napoleon III, who detested the United States, the French came to stay. They brought a Hapsburg prince with them to rule the new Mexican empire. His name was Maximilian; his wife, Carolota. Napoleon’s French Army had not been defeated in 50 years, and it invaded Mexico with the finest modern equipment and with a newly reconstituted Foreign Legion. The French were not afraid of anyone, especially since the United States was embroiled in its own Civil War.”

So enjoy the day – why, because there is no Cinco De Quatro or Cinco De Seis, at least not in holiday form!
